Aims & Scope

Lampyrid is a new international publication, containing critical reviews, original papers, and research articles on all aspects of bioluminescent beetle research. Book reviews are also included.

The Lampyrid journal serves as an international forum for papers discussing research on the evolution, taxonomy, ecology, physiology, behaviour, molecular biology and phylogeography of bioluminescent beetles. The Journal will also publish papers describing novel methods, tools and experimental approaches for use in bioluminescent beetle research.

Manuscripts generally should not exceed 30 pages (exceptions are possible, particularly in case of reviews and taxonomic monographs, but should be negotiated in advance with the editor). Papers are considered by referees before acceptance. Authors will receive first editorial decision within 8 weeks from confirmed submission. All contributions are published in English. Authors whose mother tongue is not English are strongly urged to have their manuscripts reviewed linguistically before submission. It is understood that manuscripts submitted to Lampyrid have not been offered to any other journal for prior or simultaneous publication.

The journal accepts research articles, reviews, short communications and book reviews. If submitting a review contact the editor via Email with a synopsis (approximately 200-500 words) of the reviews content to ensure it is suitable for the journal and is not already under consideration from another author.
